Welcome to the official website of Zowiso

After all these years you finally entered the official website of ZOWISO. A band with a name too hard to translate and even harder to give a sound explanation what we were all about in the other Eighties; But it is for sure that fun was always not too far from our sides.

We made our start in 1980, well infected and helped by the Wormer highly trending do it yourself generation, more or less led and inspired by the enthusiasm of the never ending band The Ex. With the usual trial and error we managed to develop ourselves, as hopefully proven by our albums and singles over these years. We waved goodbye in 1986 after a long period without inspiration, luckily the break did not affect our friendship. As a result of that, there was no reason for others to come true as new Zowiso members and therefore no new line ups after 1986.

Be aware that long before we reached the last millennium, it was easy to start a band and even easier then to pretend and act you’re able to change the world by music (and fortunately nobody listened carefully). As we know by now, theories fail every time and so do we sometimes. This site is not set up to bring the world in gloom, as we’re no grumpy old punks, although still far away from what’s called entertainment. Hopefully you’ll enjoy our site and brings back memories to those not so weary days, when we were unaware of the coming digital possibilities.

This site is open for all of you are interested to read, look and listen to a history of what was once named ZOWISO. This site’s made as a continuing work in progress and thus always ready for improvement by people who feel the need to participate and help us to complete the historic picture.

If you have any digitalized information, documents, other fine hard to find music or worthwhile miscellaneous that didn’t hit our vinyl releases or dusty cassettes to contribute our website, we’ll be very thankful. In the meantime we’ll seek and hope to find any nice stuff to complete our site within our own World Wide Cobweb. ZOWISO: Anyway a reason to start a band.
